The Scaling Impact accelerator program, and the Social Impact Hub, will be hosting its demo-day, for the 2021 cohort of social enterprises, on Wednesday October 13.
You can register here.
The event is the culmination of an intensive program to help fledgling founders define a scalable business model, and become impact-investment ready.
They’ve undergone masterclasses, individual mentoring, as well as workshops with management consultants and investors. All focussed on funneling expertise and know-how into the next-generation of social entrepreneurs.
2021 Cohort
To prepare you for the event, here are the enterprises set to present their social-impact business model:
Champion Life: a technology company with an overarching mission to deliver engaging and effective preventative health education to populations in need.
CommUnity Construction: a pioneering social enterprise in the Australian construction industry on a mission to empower those who have sought refuge and asylum in Australia to build new lives.
The Equality Institute: a global feminist agency working to advance gender equality and end violence against women and girls.
Green Collect: an award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to working for sustainable environmental and social change by assisting businesses to achieve the highest possible environmental outcomes for a wide range of discarded office items, while at the same time creating new jobs.
Grow Your Mind: a mental health social enterprise and certified BCorp dedicated to preventative mental health education for pre and primary school children and their communities.
Mates on the Moves: a waste diversion business providing training and employment to people leaving prison.
PROJECT ROCKIT: a social enterprise that delivers quality anti-bullying and social leadership training in school settings.
She’s A Crowd: a feminist tech start-up using the power of storytelling to make cities safer for women.
During the past 23 weeks, the handpicked social enterprises have been challenged, motivated and inspired, and hopefully, they’ve also taken major steps towards being ready for impact investment.
The program is funded through the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme and the Sidney Myer Fund, while also being supported by Ernst & Young and the English Family Foundation.
