The inaugural 2023 Social Impact Summit is happening next week with a gathering of social impact leaders from across the Australian purpose and profit ecosphere. Inspired by the vision of a wellbeing economy to serve people and the planet, the summit’s agenda this year is Together for Good: Accelerating a fair, just and inclusive Australian society.
The summit will cover a wide range of social impact areas including:
- Creating and rebuilding flourishing communities;
- Cultivating wellbeing across cultures connection to culture, people, community and country, including First Nations ways of being, building unity and shared understanding;
- Integrating Corporate strategies with integrated social impact; looking at how business can address systemic issues; and calculating ESG risk scores, with a strong focus on the ‘S’ in ESG; and
- Impact at scale.
Impact Institute CEO, Mark Jones said “Our vision for Social Impact Summit is to foster an active community of social impact leaders who gain inspiration then act with aspiration”. “We’re at a pivotal moment in Australian business and community life. More needs to be done, yet opportunities to unite social impact leaders and create room for action are notably absent from our professional landscape. We’re going to change that.”
Renown social researcher and author, Hugh Mackay will also make a keynote address at the Summit, centred around his book, The Kindness Revolution.
Post the Summit, the Impact Institute team will be compiling an report which will summarise some of the solutions and key ideas presented, and deliver it to government, corporate and community leaders.
